We will not meet Tuesday May 30
We will have a social event at SnowPack Brew Pub 11863 Springs Rd. Wednesday, May 31, 5:30-8:30pm

Program:  Conifer High School Robotics Club

The Conifer High School Robotics Club joined us to show us what they have learned and to demonstrate their robot.  They thanked us for the financial support we provided during their 10 years of existence.  Key to their success is the support they receive from a national organization, "For Inspiration for Science and Technology", FIRST.  The club receives a robot kit from the FIRST organization.  It includes instructions, and other support to build their robot using their own design.  With their robot, they can participate in competitions at regional, national and even international levels.  This year they qualified for regional.

The club program encourages community participation and citizenship, problem-solving, team-building, decision-making and prioritization.  They have five community mentors who teach them mechanical, electrical, programming engineering.  The Club has about 20 student members from grades 8-12.  To enable their projects and competitions their annual budget is about $12,000.  This year that included a new laptop computer, supplies and an extensive equipment list in order to create the robots.
