  • The Club will not meet December 24 and December 31
  • We will have a Club Social at Aspen Peak Winery in Bailey Sunday, December 15, 2-5pm
  • The Holiday Party will be January 4, 2020 5-8 at Marlis and Steve’s home
  • The Conifer High School Interact Club will be showing the Warren Miller adventure movie "Timeless" at Conifer High School 7PM December 13.  There will be prizes and vendor booths.  The tickets are available on our Conifer Rotary website homepage at https://rotaryconifer.org or click HERE to go to the Interact Club website for more information.  The funds raised will help fund the Interact trip to Nepal next summer.
  • Please sign up to be a Salvation Army bell ringer.  There are slots at King Soopers, the King Soopers Convenience Gas Station, and Moore Lumber in Pine Junction.  The link to sign up is on the Conifer Rotary website under weblinks, or just click HERE.
  • Rotary Leadership Institute for District 5450 is February 1st.  It is perfect for any Rotarian who wants to learn more about the larger world of Rotary.  Go to the District 5450 website to register or just click HERE.
  • February 8 is the Future of Rotary Dinner and Polio Fundraiser in Denver featuring Rotary International General Secretary and CEO John Hewko. Reservations sign up is on the District website or just click HERE.
  • Bring Rotary Magazines for distribution to the community.  We have Rotary “stickers” to place over your address label.  We will take them to doctor offices, veterinarian offices, other public places….be creative!
  • The Dolly Parton Imagination Library table at Conifer Holiday Parade was successful.  We talked with many folks and distributed many flyers.  A number of parents shared that they already are part of the Imagination Library and they love it!
  • Bill Downes is selling tickets for the Ice Melt contest on Evergreen Lake, a fund-raiser for Mountain Foothills Rotary Club.  The proceeds go to special needs kids and to the Food Bank.  Tickets: start at $1 for 3, on up to $11 for 20.  The top prize is $1000.  You can get your tickets from Bill or at many Evergreen area businesses.
  • Bill also reports that he and his wife met with Mat and Audrey Matson in Hawaii.  He suggested that Mat would welcome greetings from Conifer Rotarians.
  • Pat Hagan volunteered at the MRC Kids Christmas Party last Saturday.  MRC staff sends their thanks for the Toys for Tots picked up and delivered by Rotarians  Marlis and Hugh.  The party served over 60 families.
  • Next week we will award our final Conifer Rotary Foundation grants to community organizations.
 
Introducing our newest member:Bambi Moss
 
Born and raised in Conifer, Bambi and husband Ira have two children, both in college.  Both kids are very athletic.  Bambi has a degree in environmental studies.  Her career has involved various types of medical support work.  She worked for many years with Diana Phelps, who is now her Rotary Mentor.
 
Bambi enjoys volunteering.  She does emergency animal evacuation for small animals, a member of the animal protective league.  She volunteers with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC).  Right now she is providing home care for her elderly parents.
