Announcements/Business:

  • Wes will be scheduling the ConiferFest planning meetings soon. This is taking place August 21st and will be a similar concept to what we did last year, but it’s up for discussion. There is a possibility we could be clear by June and we could have more options for what we have to do with fewer restrictions.
  • PTSA Conifer is hosting Mind Blown Trivia Night. It is virtual, you can join as an individual or you can go to a home to have a little group gathering and participate that way. $20 per person on May 8th: http://chsptsa.blogspot.com/
  • The Food Drive will also be May 8th for Day of Service from 10-3pm setup around 9am. If anyone wants to come to help, please feel free to let Leslie know. Leonor made posters that have been put up around the community . There’s also a banner to put out for visibility during the event. BIG shoutout to Leonor who was hugely instrumental in getting these materials ready! King Sooper said we should get in touch too to see if people could handout fliers for what is needed so shoppers could pick it up on their way in.
  • Upcoming Pfizer vaccine events:
  • Amanda - She will start reaching out and calling people and wants to hear feedback and about what you want for next year. Any ideas are welcome!
  • District conference May 6-7th followed by day of service May 8th. Still some spots available if you want to register. If you want to attend virtually, registration closes on May 5th.
  • District looking for 1-2 people to serve in the role of District Youth and At Risk Youth Officer Protector. Contact Marlis for contact info if interested.
  • The Evergreen Ice Melt barrel fell through ice on April 14th at 1:34 PM -  which is pretty late relative to years past!
  • Evening Weds group meetings starting this week at 5:30 at Kristi’s house since there’s a lot of snow coming in.
  • Pass the gavel will happen on June 26th at Marlis’ house. Stay tuned for more info.
  • Survey was sent recently about returning to in person meetings: 24 responses so far out of 37 total. It’s optional, but if you want your voice to be heard please respond. Right now, it looks like there is a tie for returning in person in June vs starting in July. We’re also working on a hybrid meeting so people can participate via Zoom.
  • May 1st wildfire preparedness day moving forward with the Rotary Wildfire Readiness group. Elk Creek 8:30-11:30am , Bergen Fire Dept 1:30-4:30pm. Stop by and be sure to wear your Rotary shirt!
