Announcements/Business:

  • District 5450 is requesting nominations for District Governor. Candidates will be past club presidents. Let Marlis know if you have a candidate in mind.
  • District is looking for past members of college fraternities and sororities for prospective new members for Rotaract. If you have contact with your school Greek organization, reach out to see if there are students who might be interested.
  • District Peace is Possible webinar is this week: January 7, 6:30-7:30pm.
  • Our meeting next Tuesday will be the virtual White Elephant exchange. Drop your gift at Angela’s home before next Tuesday. Mark will run the exchange from Angela’s home.
  • The “Anti-social Social” provided four families with Christmas trees (thanks to Bambi and Ira), decorations, and gifts. Thank you to everyone for donations for the project. Thanks to Suzanne and Pat for coordinating the event. There is consensus that this will become an annual event.
  • Maskquerade: The project is now selling the mask at a reduced price. Go online to coniferfest.com to order your masks. As of this morning, we will net $1750 with postage removed. Boys and Girls Club need masks for kids, so some of the extras will go to them; additional leftovers will be sent to other groups we have supported with masks.
  • The Valentine’s fund-raiser: Meals will be prepared by Castles and Kitchens and folks will order, purchase and pick up the meals. Tom Becker is planning the menu and setting up the cost for the meals as well as the logistics for purchase and pick up.
  • The back pack project needs granola bars/fruit and grain bars. They can be dropped at the pantry at St. Laurence or contact Charlotte to arrange pick up.
  • Lee has sent our invoices for dues. If you can have your bank arrange to send the dues via Zell: rotaryclub@rotaryconifer.org. If you want to write a check, get it to Angela or mail to the Conifer Rotary PO Box 1430, Conifer 80433-1430.
  • Full Send Bike park initial meeting is tonight…there will be many other steps before the project will be approved by Jefferson County.
  • The Salvation Army raised about 75% of the normal amount at the Red Kettles.
