- July Social: Saturday, July 17th at Amanda’s house at 6pm. DG Ray Anderson will be attending, this will be a great opportunity for us to get to know him! Potluck: bring your favorite dish and a beverage if you like. Everyone is encouraged to invite a guest. Please RSVP if you haven’t already.
- Elevation Celebration: Elevation Run/Walk 7:15 am on Saturday, June 24th. Fee is $35 for adults and you can do the 10K, 5K, or 2 mile race. - Webinar: Mindfulness and Empathetic Action August 5th, 630pm via Zoom. Sign up at rotary5450.org
- ConiferFest: August 21 - Foundation meeting Tuesday, July 13 (this morning) to talk about planning for ConiferFest.
- Membership Summit: August 21 - If anyone doesn’t plan to attend ConiferFest and would prefer to do this, the signup is on the district’s website
- Rotary Day at the Rockies: Sunday, September 26 at 1:10pm Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants. If anyone wants to coordinate a group of us going together, please feel free to do so. Tickets: $28 each. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to End Polio Now.
Updates:
Resilience 1220: Provides individual and group counseling to people in the mountain communities ages 12-20. More info can be found here: https://www.resilience1220.org/
Some of the included programs are:
- SOAR: Supporting Others in Addiction and Recovery is a support group for people 14-20, that meets on Tuesdays at 730pm via Zoom
- Parenting: Creating a safe place for your teen and family on July 14 from 7-830pm via Zoom
- Grief support group July 14 from 9-11am at Evergreen Lake. In person - $10 per person with Paddle boarding and brunch
- Beyond the Rainbow (support for the LGBTQ community) 2nd Wednesday of the month via Zoom
Out in the Community:
- Amanda was a guest with the KIWANIS Club of Conifer - meet on Wednesdays at 7:30am at Conifer Café. They would like to know what we are doing in the community and find ways to collaborate.
- Marlis and Amanda attended the Evergreen Rotary Club meeting last Friday. In the past Ed has coordinated getting peach orders to this group, but this year he has a conflict, so Leslie has volunteered to help with this. He’s also looking for volunteers to take a load (10-15 boxes) to Mt. Evans Hospice. Contact Ed if you’d like to help.
Tents:
- Center for the Arts, needs tents for their Summer Fest for the weekend and in the past they’ve rented from Rotary. Wes will help coordinate with Ed.
Meeting Program: No guest speaker today, the club went into the foundation meeting early to start the ConiferFest planning conversation.
