Rotary Club of Conifer Videoconference Meeting July 14, 2020

Announcements/Business:

• Update on Elephant Butte fire in Evergreen: fire growth has slowed, there are hot spots within the perimeter. The weather is to be cooler today and tomorrow. We will continue to monitor and be available to help as needed.
• Graduation for CHS is Friday, August 7 at PM. Wes needs volunteers to assist with parking by 2-2:30 check-in. Please contact him if you can help. There will be screening for all the folks attending: temperature check, query about illness; face masks and social distancing will be required. Wear your own mask or paper masks will be available. Orange vests will be provided. If you can stay for the two hours, you could help move folks out of the venue at PM. Wear your Rotary t-shirts.
• Update on ConiferFest. We have some sponsors: 1^st Bank, Scripps-Taylor Accounting, Branches Cabinetry and Woodson Realty. The sponsorships are Main Stage for $1,000; $100 sponsorships are also available. Our Conifer Rotary website has the applications for sponsorships. Posters will be distributed. Los 3 Garcia’s will provide a food truck. We have sold 9 tickets to date. We expect to have ticket sales growing as soon as we have band confirmation. Wes will ask the Club to review the COVID-19 guidelines.
• Facemask: 8,099 sewn. We will deliver to 9 elementary schools this week.
• The evening group will meet next Wednesday at Angela’s home at 5:30pm. All are welcome….social distancing/masks and refreshments.
• Ruth gave a COVID-19 update from her sister, an ER doctor in CA. The hospitals she serves are out of beds; they have had to get Remdesiver and oxygen re-supplied. A number of her colleagues have become ill and several/and family have died. Take it seriously.
• The Food Bank of the Rockies truck will be coming Thursday, July 23 for the Back Pack Project. Charlotte will be needing help picking up food in Pine Junction. More details to come.
• Angela celebrated her birthday July 9. Today is Mark’s birthday. Happy birthday to you both!!
