We will NOT meet next week, June 30.
The following week, Marlis will send out the new ZOOM information

  • The Passing of the Gavel event will be a potluck dinner 5:30PM this Saturday at Marlis's home.  Look for an email with directions to her home.
  • Rotary Grants training.  Pat attended and will share at a future meeting.
  • Tomorrow, Hugh will be visiting at Angela’s to engage the evening group.  Art, Amy, Kimberly, Mark plan to attend.  They will be creating a response letter about the peach sales.  Angela has had many inquiries and will create a contact list.
  • Angela is selling the St. Patrick’s Day Fundraiser auction items and has money for the Foundation.  Lesley and Janine have additional items for sale.
  • Christy has been busy volunteering for MRC during COVID-19 stay-home:  she painted the pantry, and picked up food from Food Bank of the Rockies for the MRC pantry food distribution.
  • Masks report from Leonore:  6161 sewn, with over 2000 for the elementary schools.  We need volunteers in July to count and box masks for the schools.  Contact Leonore to help.
  • Our President Elect Nominee position for 2021 is open.  After much careful thought Lee informed us that he will be unable to take the position.
  • Wes reports that we have approval from Jefferson County to hold our ConiferFest Music Fundraiser August 15!  We are moving forward with planning and need help, please contact Wes.  We need sponsors to fund the event.  We have a list of potential businesses; members will need to reach out to engage them for sponsorships.
  • RI is in the midst of this year's virtual International Convention.  Leonore “attended” a couple of sessions the past weekend:
    • On Saturday she learned about Rotary history, including the role of Rotary in starting the United Nations 75 years ago.
    • Rotary's experience in eradication of Polio will help with the international effort to fight COVID-19.
    • The Rotary president made a statement about the importance of being a fully inclusive organization.   There was a focus on how to include Rotarians’ families in our activities.  In the near future, Rotary will focus on technology to keep us connected and keep our projects moving forward.  Rotary will open meetings to “the world”.
    • Leonore suggested signing up for other presentations coming up that would be of value for our Club members.  She was very impressed with the presentations she viewed.
    • Go to the RI website to link to the Convention.  You will need to register, but can attend any of the sessions you wish.  Many of the sessions will be “on-demand” at a later time.
  • News from Conifer High School:  Wes invites us to visit the new CHS (without pets) track with “social-distancing”.  The baseball field is completed.  The auxiliary gym is being built.  The library is still closed; a book-mobile is scheduled to come to the campus.  Fund-raising is going on to build bleacher seating for 1500; they are $7000 short at this time.
  • The Conifer Chamber Elevation Celebration Run will be held virtually; runners/walkers will log their own miles.  There will be swag bags; Angela is collecting for the bags.  Go on line to register.
