Announcements/Business:
  • Mind Blown Trivia Night is this Saturday night held by the Conifer High School PTSA. If you’re vaccinated, you can host a small group in your home and participate virtually. It’s the biggest fundraiser of the year.
  • Reminder to everyone that Rotary updated their logo a few years ago and we should use the new wheel logo to adhere to the brand guidelines. More info on branding guidelines can be found here: https://my.rotary.org/en/rotary-identity-guidelines
  • Pass the Gavel event will be on June 26th at the McAllister home. Save the date!
  • District has some awards given annually, coming from various different clubs primarily honoring other Rotarians. Marlis has submitted for three of them this year including the Kevin B. Ferrall leadership award for Wes, Mary K Hasz membership award to Charlotte, Scott Metcalf award for the Mask Project. To everyone involved in these, kudos to you all!
  • Saturday was Wildfire Preparedness Day where we had a great event, a few hundred people attended at Elk creek fire in Conifer and Evergreen Fire at Bergen park. The truck looks great!
  • May 8th Day of Service: this Saturday there are some volunteers setting up at 9am and collecting food from 10-3 PM. Could use a few more volunteers, reach out to Leslie if interested. Check donations can be made out to Conifer Rotary Foundation, and we will also have a cash donation jar available.
  • Pat: Attended Evening for Haiti. Was really well done and our international committee contributed funds to help build a fence to protect an agricultural school there. One of the Evergreen members got a Ted Lewis award for compassion for nurses and they raised money at the event and reached their goal which was wonderful.
  • June 19th will be Bailey Day. More info coming soon.
  • Charlotte: 9-10 families signed up for the summer program. We need at least 20 to get the Food Bank of the Rockies USDA grant. If anyone can do some outreach, that would help a lot!
  • Reminder: The Guessing Jar fundraiser, last day is May 20th. Visit https://coniferfest.com/guessing-jar-fundraiser to guess.
  • Finn: Rotary 101 - there is a special course for everyone and particularly new members. May 11th, it’s free and a great way to learn about Rotary. He will send the link via Club Runner.
Guests: Salesa’s Mom and member of Coffeyville, Kansas Rotary: Earlene Smith. Additionally, Maria Rosa Galter joined us from Pine Junction. Welcome!
