Meeting Program: Wesley Paxton - CHS Interact Club

  • Interact is geared at getting kids involved in service - Wes provided a talk on what the Interact Club has been up to at Conifer High School. In trying to teach these students Service above Self they put on a number of volunteering activities throughout the year.
  • For example, the kids put on two big events, a blood drive where they went down to southwest plaza to donate blood and a drive at the school. In the fall, the trick or treat street, where elementary students and their parents can dress up and drive through this year. Interact had a themed table that they dressed up in and passed out candy.
  • Additionally, they did some work with the Elk Run nursing home delivering candy during Halloween and Valentines Day.
  • Trying to get a trail hike put together in the future - to pick up trash along the way.
  • These kids are always looking for volunteer opportunities and projects to participate in to show their leadership and service, so anything the club can do to pass those opportunities on along the way will help.

Guests: Maria Galtar and Sara Gardner, welcome!
